Few days before Chinese New Year, I gathered some friends to “lou sang” at a local Chinese restaurant.
So we went to the huge and new Lucky Famous in town.
Yee Sang, literally translated to “raw fish”, shares the same pronunciations as increasing , hence it is considered a prosperity dish.
“Lou Sang” means to dig for wealth.
Served with different types of stripped vegetables, crackers, drizzled with sauce and oil and sprinkled with strips of raw fish and five spice powder.
It’s my favourite dish of the year!! Can someone please please bring me to eat Yee Sang before the end of 15th day of CNY.
Moving on.
The “cold dish” (appetizers) here are fantastic. They have scallops on clamp shells, sweet pork on a bed of pickled cabbage, century egg rolls, prawns and I couldn’t remember what that spring roll fritter thing was, I remembered it tasted really good.
Lemon Chicken's not so bad, I’ve had better, I’ve had worse too.
This was meant to be their recommended tofu. In my opinion it’s very disappointing if this were to be their best tofu.
Salad Prawn, prawn fritters drizzled with mayonnaise; again, I’ve had far better.
The “Kai Lan” was good though. :D Me like~
Here’s the address for you Melakan out there. But then again, who doesn’t know about Lucky Famous, it’s just in between Amigo and Red Square KTV AND it’s six lots wide.
Rating: 3/5 (cold dish alone is 4.5/5)
