Heng Hua Rice Noodle

I am from a Hokkien origin, a dialect group of Chinese for those non-Chinese.

And under this group, there are many sub-groups.

I fall under, the Hokkien - Heng Hua sub-group. Better known as 兴化 省.

We, Heng Hua, celebrate Chinese New Year quite differently (as for every single culture out there), we have our own Heng Hua food and tradition to follow.

On the first morning of CNY, we need to eat what we creatively called “Heng Hua Min Xin Mee Sua” (in Hokkien) or you can also call it Heng Hua Rice Noodle.

And because I can’t speak nuts of Hokkien language, I intelligently combine Hokkien and Mandarin and call it “Heng Hua Mian Xian”.

Eating Rice Noodle has always indicated long life and prosperity

I love Heng Hua Rice Noodle, it’s one of the few Asian dishes that I actually enjoy and love. It’s also the only Asian dish I don’t mind waking up early in the morning to eat, for a person who don’t eat breakfast, that’s a big achievement.

We also share our culture with our ancestors who passed this tradition to us.

pray

Ingredients of Heng Hua Rice Noodle consist of pig intestines and stomach, eggs, sweet peas, bone stock soup, sprinkle of fried onions, assorted mushrooms, abalone and some other anonymous things.

And even though I usually leave the intestines and stomach behind.

It’s delicious like no other.

heng hua here as well. Sigh, I miss my mum's heng hua mee sua. Back home in kuching, we also have heng hua pa mee ( loosely translated as heng hua hit noodle ).
Apparently, there is a restaurant in Singapore that solely serve Heng Hua delicacies. Will surely try the Klang Heng hua mee sua. ;)

We usually do the henghua "sho mee" in vegetarian, mushroom, black seeweed, vegetables etc.
And there only one provision shop in Jalan Besar(Li hwa) which sells them, however its closed down...

Hi, the klang bak kut teh heng hua mee sua restaurant is Restoran Beng Shen
Batu 5, Jalan Kapar
42100 Klang
Tel: 03-3291-1575/ 019-2782249 (Ms. Ng)
Business hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (Closed on Monday)
The Bak Kut Teh Mee Sua consist ingredients like mushrooms, fu chum and juicy tender pork meat. Their mee suah was rather thick, dense and yet very smooth. This combination BKT with mee suah was surprisingly good.
Chicken Wine Mee Suah
The chicken wine soup was well flavoured, really aromatic with rice wine and the right amount of ginger. Chicken was still tender and juicy; and mee suah had absorbed those yummy rice wine soup with enough dose of alcohol to turn your cheek into rosy colour.
Restoran Beng Shen is famous for their Bak Kut Teh Mee Suah, which is a hand made longevity noodles that take16 hours for processing to complete. Regulars will come for their bak kut teh mee suah and chicken wine mee suah, other than this they also offer a variety of order to cook dish like fried lala (clams), steamed fish and etc.
